From the "Land of Flowing Water" to the Land of Swirling Dust
Hilton Creek begins on the east slope at the crest of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. All year, it flows downhill, through the native habitat of Long Valley and into Crowley Lake. Once, kneeled in the tall grass, I watched a brown trout lay her eggs in an eddy of the creek, her spawning site.
Water is life: without it nothing grows.
Launched in 2021, Every Last Drop Newsletter has evolved into Revealing Payahuunadü, a portal for water empowerment education.

Bye-Bye Beer Bro Culture
Females are flipping the male-dominated brewing industry on its head.
For about 10,000 years, beer fermentation was cloaked in mystery and, thus, left to the women. Ninkasi, the Mesopotamian goddess of beer and brewing, oversaw the unknown chemical process that created the much-loved beer and the women who made our favorite frothy drink.

Stories Strengthen Community,
Commerce, and Culture
The Anaheim Packing House first became a community hub in 1919 as the Sunkist Packing House. The women worked on the top floor carefully choosing oranges from a conveyor belt and putting them in specific crates. Downstairs the men transferred the heavy crates to the refrigerated box cars to travel by train all over the world. Shortly after WWII, Jamie’s grandparents met while working at this packinghouse.
Several years later, Jamie became the Communications Manager introducing the Anaheim Packing House as a gourmet food hall in a registered historic building to the close-knit, locals-only community and the world market for those visiting Disneyland, just two miles away.
Through effective storytelling, media and community relations, and event concept design, Jamie wove together the beauty of the past with the passions of the new merchants and makers taking us boldly into the future. Working with a multitude of players, Jamie coalesced a cohesive message for the diverse products and services that now attracts millions of visitors each year.
“I have had the pleasure of working with Jamie Della on many projects. I found her publicity, public relations, media relations, writing, marketing skills and work ethic to be outstanding, from developing story ideas and pitching media to crafting press releases, press kits, marketing proposals, and ad copy, as well as providing art direction and event planning.
Jamie has a natural marketing ability and is always brainstorming creative and innovative ways to accomplish tasks. She is hardworking, and strives to make each project glow with success. Jamie is very intuitive, and always looks for the right angles to accomplish the task with ease. She is a true team player and a fun and creative person to collaborate with on projects.”

“During the nine years that I was a Senior Publicist and then Publicity Manager at Ten Speed Press, an imprint of Penguin Random House, I worked with many authors. Some showed little interest or acumen in publicity, while others were hard-working proponents of their books. Jamie Della was the latter.
Jamie was a joy to work with. Not only was she flexible, dedicated, and enthusiastic, she was savvy about the business of publicity, and astute at finding new and interesting publicity opportunities and outlets.”
